ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
Cristo Rey Baton Rouge Franciscan High School is a Catholic learning community that educates young people of limited economic means to become men and women of faith, purpose and service. Through a rigorous college preparatory curriculum, integrated with a relevant work study experience, students graduate ready to succeed in college and in life.
Cristo Rey Baton Rouge is part of the national Cristo Rey Network of high schools, and is sponsored by the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady (FMOL) religious sisters. The school opened its doors in August 2016 to its first class of freshmen. The school currently serves students in grades 9 and 10, and by adding a freshman class each year the school will serve grades 9-12 by the 2019-20 school year.
Cristo Rey Franciscan High School is seeking a dynamic, creative and experienced fund development professional to develop and lead its fundraising activities, be responsible for fostering a culture of philanthropy within the organization, and insure that the organization’s culture, systems and procedures support fund development and vice versa.
Bachelors degree in business administration or relevant field required. Masters degree preferred. CFRE preferred. Five years of executive experience in education or related fund-raising required. Significant education and community service experience and an understanding of the principles of fund-raising are essential.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong track record of effective fund-raising and broad-based knowledge of development programs. Strong management and leadership skills, as well as the ability to forge strong interpersonal relationships with board members, FMOL religious sisters, corporate executives, community leaders, and individuals and organizations throughout the greater Baton Rouge community are also required.
The Chief Development Officer is responsible for all of Cristo Rey Franciscan High School's fund-raising activities and results. This includes the annual giving program, endowment development, donor relations, and special events. The Chief Development Officer will report to the Vice President of Cristo Rey Franciscan High School and work closely with the President, other members of the senior staff, the board, and members of the development committee to articulate the vision for the school, to create a culture of philanthropy that supports that vision, and to establish short- and long-term strategic initiatives and programs for Cristo Rey Franciscan High School.
