Southeastern seeks an Assistant Director of Development to organize and execute specialized and ongoing programs to raise funds and cultivate relationships with students, alumni and donors. Principal duties include personal solicitation, comprehensive annual giving campaigns, student programming, and the University's major fundraiser "Chefs Evening."
The successful candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university; strong relationship building and organizational skills with a proven ability to plan, coordinate, and implement multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines with attention to detail and accuracy; excellent verbal and interpersonal skills with staff and volunteers; the ability to give presentations to groups as well as solicit individual donors; possess a positive and professional demeanor; demonstrate credibility, integrity, and confidentiality; and possess strong computer software program skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
The successful candidate also acts with a commitment to ethical fundraising, handling confidential donor and University information with integrity and sensitivity and must be willing to work flexible hours. Some travel, nights and weekends required.
A candidate with a master's degree from an accredited university; direct solicitation experience; volunteer management skills; awareness of donor prospect management methods and software; the ability to learn new software quickly; and knowledge of constituent relations databases such as Raiser's Edge is desired.
