Southeastern seeks an Advancement Services Coordinator for processing and maintaining gift and biographical information for the University's three affiliates, for implementing the Foundation's scholarship program, and for supporting advancement services activities. The position interacts and communicates with Advancement staff, other University-wide staff, alumni, and students in a professional and productive manner. Because most duties are performed on a specialized database, the position requires a high level of organization and attention to detail and accuracy. In addition, the position requires a thorough knowledge of the University Advancement philosophy and the ability to identify customer needs.
The mission of the Southeastern University Advancement Division is to promote Southeastern, enhance its reputation, and foster volunteer involvement and private investment by creating and stewarding meaningful relationships with university constituents.
Required Qualifications: The successful candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university; demonstrated experience in an office environment involving considerable computer work with attention to detail and accuracy as the primary goal; must be able to prioritize work flow; be proactive; possess superior organizational skills, including the ability to balance ongoing projects with ad hoc requests, the ability to work independently with minimal direction, ability to work well with others; and the ability to manage daily, weekly, and monthly processes to meet deadlines.
The successful candidate also acts with a commitment to ethical fundraising, handling confidential donor and University information with professionalism, integrity and sensitivity and must be willing to work flexible hours. Some weekend work may be required.
Desired Qualifications: A candidate proficient in MS Office Suite and Raiser's Edge; with awareness of donor prospect research and prospect management methods and software; ability to learn new software quickly; demonstrated analytical skills to initiate and perform complex analyses and organize information to identify philanthropic patterns, tendencies, and relationships among individuals, corporations and foundations; excellent verbal and interpersonal skills with staff and volunteers and proven client service orientation; familiarity with relational databases and experience in nonprofit development with knowledge of basic fundraising concepts; and a high level of professionalism, and customer service.
